Survey Method
- The survey was done using a combination of our survey instruments: GPS, a Total Station and traditional tape and Disto methods.
- The measuring process was done over a full day on site. Plans issued 7-10 days later.
Survey specifics
Measured floor plans:
To provide accurate and detailed 2D internal floor plans across both the warehouse and the internal offices. Survey control was adopted from the external topographic survey. Offices, warehouse, walls, doors, windows, stairs, floor levels, ceiling heights, sill and head heights and basic ceiling details were all surveyed and featured on these comprehensive plans.
Elevations
All true elevations (showing wall plumbness) were surveyed, combining floorplan details with total station data. External faces featured items such as movement joints, windows and door configurations (indicating opening lights etc.) structural opening sizes and appropriate levels, rainwater downpipes, gutters, vents, lightning protection, telephone cables, signage etc. Profiles of any cladding and surface coverings. Drawings were comprehensively annotated and included dimensioning where requested.
Topographic Survey
To provide 2D & 3D topographic survey at a detail level of 1:200. Deliver a comprehensive topographic survey on Ordnance Survey grid and datum. Paying particular attention to the area of proposed extension, however the whole site benefited from a full survey including details such as: Outline block plans of all buildings across the site, roadways, including gulley’s, type and condition of surface, kerbs, drop kerbs, etc. Walls, fences, trees, hedges and foliage etc.
Internal sections were requested to clearly indicate all structural floors, walls, openings, ceilings, window head heights and cill heights, stairs & steps, ramps and all other intersecting details. Roof truss details were of particular interest to the client.
