Project deliverables
- 2D AutoCAD drawings (2020 release) Data capture data in .E57 format for working in Tekla.
- PDFs & photographs.
- The client was happy that the survey was carried out in a quick and safe manor with minimal complications and at competitive rates.
Methodology, specifics and deliverables
- The survey was done using a combination of our survey instruments: A Total Station, GPS and a 3D Laser Scanner.
- Principle survey control used by our clients lead engineer were provided. A further comprehensive network of control stations were forwarded using a 1” instrument within the building and on neighbouring buildings and provided a rigid network throughout the surveying process.
- The project specification demanded a high level of accuracy and a quick turnaround. Therefore, each floor was surveyed using a Leica P40 laser scanner.
- This enabled our engineer to locate the as-built steel structure including beams and columns and their associated levels, speedily, reliably and to a high degree of precision. A suitable network of set-ups on each floor meant a nice degree of cross over data capture was achieved and no side of any steel item was left uncaptured.
The existing concrete core and external details were also subsequently surveyed, on all floors. Although surplus to requirement, it too acted as supplementary control data and added further integrity of the project data set. - The data set was processed using Leica Geosystems Cyclone and Cloudworx software.
